Tom Croft Joins the TMI Management Team

Thunderbolt Marine Inc welcomes Tom Croft to Savannah as the newest member of its management team. With a broad background in yacht construction and boat yard management his expertise will add to the capabilities of the yard’s expanding resources. Tom has a B.S.E. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and will manage the technical logistics of the facility. His focus will be coordinating repair work performed by TMI’s skilled tradesmen and improving processes for increased efficiency.

Croft’s arrival coincides with renovations underway that will provide modern office and reception space. Other capital improvements include the construction of three new bays, one of which will be a dedicated spray booth constructed to NFPA standards. The work will include raising the roof height on the new sheds to 95 feet. The additional construction will increase the capacity for vessels of significant air draft to be undercover for projects that are weather sensitive.

Thunderbolt Marine is a comprehensive full service repair and refit. Serving vessels up to 180 feet, TMI has hauling capabilities of 150 tons by Travelift and 1,150 tons by Syncrolift. No overhead height restrictions make TMI an easy approach by sea.
